About

Humans before AI

This website is a collection of articles, research notes, and ideas in progress. It is built to keep attention on the writing: fast pages, durable links, and no account or voting system.

It was built because the current AI race values profit and dominance over people. Corporations and states are accelerating powerful systems without adequate checks, treating AI as a growth engine rather than a public responsibility. That concentration of capability and capital risks reorganizing work, degrading product quality, and shifting costs and accountability onto ordinary people — all while the technology is framed as more capable than it truly is.

The raison d’être is simple: push for technology that augments human judgment, not replaces it. We champion the “centaur” model — tools that make people better at what they do — and resist the “reverse centaur,” where humans are reshaped to serve opaque automated systems. Transparency, distributed governance, and international inspection mechanisms must replace winner‑take‑all secrecy and unchecked competition.

This is a warning. Treating AI development like a speculative gold rush is playing Russian roulette with civilization. Super‑exponential growth, black‑box models we cannot fully audit, and the geopolitical incentive to hoard capability create pathways to catastrophic outcomes that are too easily ignored while shareholders are prioritized.

We call for urgent, serious measures: elevated national security‑style oversight for high‑risk systems, multinational agreements on inspection and distribution, and public transparency so ordinary people can understand and contest how AI reshapes their lives. If AI cannot be aligned with human flourishing and verified as safe, it should be constrained — not celebrated as inevitable progress.
